Description

WHY JUVÉDERM® XC?

Juvéderm® XC is the ONLY hyaluronic acid (HA) filler FDA approved to last up to one year with one treatment (did we just say a year?). That’s right, up to a year.

Not all HA dermal fillers are created equal. Only Juvéderm® XC is so smooth. Other hyaluronic acid fillers currently on the market are made of granular consistency gels, but our unique manufacturing process (HYLACROSS™) creates a smooth-consistency gel that flows easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel—so everyone will notice (but no one will know)!

Juvéderm® XC injectable gel is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid dermal filler that has proven its safety and effectiveness in persons of color. Studies with Juvéderm® XC showed no increased risk of hyperpigmentation or hypertrophic scarring in patients of color.

One size doesn’t fit all when it comes to wrinkle treatment. A customized treatment plan is important for achieving the best results. That’s why Juvéderm® XC is available in two formulations — Juvéderm® XC for versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds, and Juvéderm® XC, a more robust formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and facial wrinkles. This allows your healthcare professional to tailor treatment to meet your unique needs.

FAQ

How does Juvéderm® XC Work?

Young, healthy-looking skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). But as you age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. The lack of HA causes your skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds – like those parentheses lines around your nose and mouth. Using a dermal filler like Juvéderm® XC is a safe and effective way to replace the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds.

What to Expect with Juvéderm® XC?

Because Juvéderm® XC is a simple, nonsurgical wrinkle treatment*, there is minimal recovery or downtime (and the results are instant!). So you can make an appointment to stop by your healthcare professional’s office for treatment on the way home from work or the gym, or even while the kids are at soccer practice—and get right back to your daily routine

What is the treatment process like?

Anesthetic may not be needed prior to treatment since Juvéderm® XC is specially formulated with lidocaine (a type of anesthetic) to improve comfort during treatment. Your physician may also elect to use a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area before the injections. Your healthcare professional will then ease the Juvéderm® XC under your skin (where wrinkles and folds occur) to replace lost skin volume. Following the injection, your healthcare professional may gently massage the treated areas. The procedure is quick and easy and the results are instant! The injection itself usually takes only about 15 minutes.

What can I expect post-treatment?

You should avoid the following for at least 24 hours after treatment: Strenuous exercise, Consumption of alcoholic beverages and Extended exposure to sun or heat. You may experience pain, tenderness, temporary redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, and bumps at the injection sites. Studies have shown that these are usually mild to moderate in nature and clear up on their own in 7 days or less. If you experience swelling at the injection site, you can apply an ice pack for a brief period. Be sure to report any redness and/or visible swelling that last for more than a few days (or any other symptoms that cause you concern) after receiving treatment to your healthcare professional and/or contact Allergan Product Support at 1-877-345-5372. Your healthcare professional will tell you when makeup may be applied after your wrinkle treatment.

When will I see results?

You should see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas. Most patients need one injectable dermal filler treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing and improve skin volume. Just one treatment with Juvéderm® XC can smooth away your wrinkles for up to 1 year!
